Rough and textured paint structure
After the first year of war, the Germans began to reduce the glare of the smooth factory paint on their M35 helmets by applying mud or affixing a bread bag strap in order to attach foliage. Subseqiently the helmets were repainted in the field or at company-level depots. This chapter presents a variety of rough paint textures including the typical M40 factory textured paint.
