Decals of the Heer and Paramilitary Branches

This chapter covers decals mainly on helmets found in Norway. Among them are rare decals of the Heer and other branches. 

Heer decal on an M16/M17 “ transitional” helmet. This decal is an early type commonly seen on transitional helmets. Notice the faint lines in the eagle which has worn over time. The cracking on the left side of the decal is due to a Reichswehr decal beneath the last paint layer.

The national shield on the same M16 transitional shown in the picture above. This shield is an early version and it is slightly smaller than the national shield which came later in the late 1930s. Notice the cracking due to the Reichswehr decal beneath the last paint layer.

A Heer decal on a child's helmet (

A Heer decal on a child's helmet ("Kinderhelm"). The manufacturer is Wilhelm Abels.

Gustav Peiniger Heer decal. This decal was found on the M35 re-issued after 1940 which has been given a new coat of paint with texture and a new decal.

The pictures above shows a rare E. Wunderlich & Co. Polizei decal. Notice the small dots around the swastika.

The pictures above show a set of rare E. Wunderlich & Co. Polizei decals, normally used on re-issued Polizei helmets. The eagle resembles an ET style Polizei decal, but the head/neck differs in detail. Another feature is the rounded tip at the bottom and the small dots around the swastika. The 
party shield has a pointed tip and the swastika itself is not centered.
