Dome Stamps and other Details
The dome stamp (or acceptance stamp) is the approval of a helmet by an inspector from the procurement office for military contracts (Beschaffungsamt für Heer und Marine). The dome stamp is located in the center of the inner dome. In most cases the stamps are faded due to age and/or light stamping at the factory.
Acceptance stamp or dome stamp in an M35 Quist. The stamp says: Abgenommen, Wehrmacht-Beschaffungsamt u. Ausrustung, Abnahmestelle Esslingen. The Quist factory was located in Esslingen.
Acceptance stamp in an M40 ET. Abgenommen, Wehrmacht Beschaffungsamt, (Bekleidung u. Ausrustung), Abnahmestelle Thale/H. (Härz). The ET plant was located in Thale.
Acceptance stamp in an M35 ET. Abgenommen I, 1938, Bekleidungsamt für Heer und Marine. The Roman numeral I indicates a helmet manufactured in either the ET plant or the SE plant.

Acceptance stamp in an M35 Quist. Abgenommen III, 1939, Bekleidungsamt für Heer und Marine. The Roman numeral III indicates a helmet manufactured in a Quist or ET plant. Notice personal signature "Bge".
Acceptance stamp in an M35 Quist. Abgenommen IV, 1936, Bekleidungsamt für Heer und Marine. The Roman numeral IV indicates a helmet manufactured in an ET, Quist, SE, NS or EF plant. Notice the size which was initially stamped in error, covered up and then re-stamped “59”.
